| Jump Lists New in Windows 7, Jump Lists take you right to the documents, pictures, songs, or websites you turn to each day. To open a Jump List, just right-click a program icon on the Windows 7 taskbar. (You'll also find them on the Start menu.) What you see in a Jump List depends entirely on the program. The Jump List for Internet Explorer 8 shows frequently-viewed websites. Windows Media Player 12 lists commonly-played tunes. Your Jump List missing a favorite? You can "pin" whatever files you like there. Jump Lists don't just show shortcuts to files. Sometimes they also provide quick access to commands for things like composing new e‑mail messages or playing music. Improved Windows Taskbar In Windows 7 you can "pin" favorite programs anywhere on the taskbar for easy access. Not crazy about the icon lineup? Now you can rearrange them any way you like by clicking and dragging. Finally, there are new ways to preview windows. Point to a taskbar icon to see a thumbnail preview of open files or programs. Then, move your mouse over a thumbnail to preview the window full-screen. You can even close windows from the thumbnail previews--a big time saver. Snap Ever need to cut through a cluttered desktop and quickly focus on a single window? Just click a pane and give your mouse a shake. Every open window except that one instantly disappears. Jiggle again--and your windows are back. Energy Efficient Intel Pentium Processor Offering the latest in ultra-low voltage processing power, the dual-core Intel Pentium SU4100 has a has a power consumption rating of just 10 watts and a 1.3 GHz speed that's paired with a fast 800 MHz front-side bus (FSB) and 2 MB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance. The FSB carries data between the CPU and RAM, and a faster front-side bus will deliver better overall performance.) Designed for use in ultra-thin laptops to balance the competing needs of high performance with battery consumption, the Pentium SU4100 features Intel SpeedStep technology, helping your system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease power consumption and heat production. It also comes with built-in Execute Disable Bit technology, which helps keep your laptop safe from viruses, worms, and other malicious attacks. Hard Drive Protection While the highly portable nature of notebooks exposes them to the knocks and bumps that are an inevitable feature of life on the move, this Toshiba model features a 3D-accelerometer monitoring system that detects freefalls, shocks and vibrations and protects the integrated HDD to secure against the loss of any personal data. Integrated Webcam with Face Recognition Capabilities A 1.3 megapixel digital web camera built into the LCD's bezel lets you quickly snap photos and participate in live video chats. The integrated webcam does more than just video chats. It includes Toshiba Face Recognition capabilities--the ultimate hands-free, hassle-free way to log onto your laptop. Just show your face to the webcam--no keeping track of hard-to-remember passwords and no unnecessary typing. And if you're using one laptop for several users--say for the whole family or for a small business--Toshiba Face Recognition lets you switch profiles with one simple look.

I have bought this laptp and it is really great. Super fast, really lightweight and with an impressive look.
About the sound: you can increase sound DRAMATICALLY if you follow this steps:
Go to Control Panel
Select SMART AUDIO
On the lower part, select SMART EQ/3D SETTINGS
Select CUSTOM
Pull the buttons up (i have them still at number 7, quite enough as you will see)
Enjoy AWESOME volume!!!

November 21 Review Actualization
Well, it has been almost a month since I bought my T135 and I can say I love this little Titan.
Pros:
-LIGHTWEIGHT
-Powerful. With Windows 7 64 edition, I can get as much performance as a my other Core 2 Duo Toshiba Sattellite A135 laptop.
- I can get 9 hours plus of battery life (Eco Mode). As per the other person stating that he can get only 4 hours of battery life, that is in full power mode. Try to get 4 hours of battery life at full power from any other machine and you will fail miserably
- Great Graphics
- Great sound if you do as I stated above:
- Wifi 802.11N!!! I mean, I an get my 802.11N signal from some 200 meters in my garden!!!
- Gorgeous looks
-FAST, FAST, FAST
I have edited video and music (iTunes and a couple of DVD rippers) and it does them in a couple of minutes
- IT'S a TOSHIBA!!!!
- Video conferencing (Skype and Messenger) it's really good, although the camera it's only 1.3 megapixels
- After 10 hours of use, at full power, it barely gets warm. You can put it on your bag right away
- Ultra Low Voltage means Ultra Low Energy Consumption. I mean guys, we have to be environmentally conscious. This babe just uses 19V of energy at full power, down to 8-10 Volts at Eco Mode.
NEUTRAL
- I hate on every laptop (no matter what brand) the touch pads. I always use an external mouse.
CONS
- You can do a fingerprint exam on the laptop. I do not know why it gets so finger dirty (and believe me, I wash my hands very often). I bought a GelySkin for the exterior and it's a great add-on
Hope this review is usefull
Great little machine January 13, 2010 Marc 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Before I write this review I do have to comment about the "low audio" problems people been having. You don't need to go to the Smart Audio application you can do it within your sound preferences. Right click your sound icon in the taskbar and choose Playback Devices, click on Speakers within the Playback tab then click Properties near the bottom of the window. Choose the Enhancements tab then choose Loudness Equalization. Or you can download the new massive 157mb driver from Toshiba and that should do the trick too.
My reason for buying this computer is to have something bigger than a netbook for some extra horsepower and screen but something small enough that I can take anywhere with ease. I'm hoping to keep this short enough but there is a lot to cover and I won't be writing about every feature...
Battery
The battery life on this machine is fantastic. I've got a little over 7 hours on Eco mode while doing some heavy internet surfing, some downloading and machine configuration and about 10 you tube vids. I've also tested watching video only in Eco mode with wifi off and I achieved 6.5 hours of video playback!!! By far i'm happy with this little machines performance.
Touchpad
I'm not sure what there is to say about this but i've had NO problems whatsoever on it. It seems accurate enough for me that i'm not yearning for a mouse. The rocker style buttons underneath the touchpad did take me a short amount of time to get used to as you need to click more than half way from the center to register a click. But that is a non issue for me as you too will get used to it.
Webcam
I'm super happy with it. My skype calls were super clear on the other end. My skype buddy mentioned that it was like looking through glass like i was in the room. Perfect!!
Wireless
Again i'm super happy about the range and quality of my wireless N network. There is no where on my property that I can't go that I can't enjoy the bliss of the internet. This little badboy even picked up other signals as well with ease which is perfect for when you're on a trip and you need to "borrow" signals from hotels or other unsecured hotspots to access info.
Graphics
It's integrated...enough said. Plays everything I throw at it including an HD movie that I ripped. I couldn't comment about online HD playback though. Obviously it isn't a gaming machine so people think before you judge this machine cause it can't play Crysis at full settings...or even medium...or maybe not at all.
Keyboard
Its a keyboard. It works. It has all the keys you need. The keys have a glossy finish on them but it's a non issue for me. I can type fairly fast and I was flying out of the gate. With anything there is a bit of a learning curve so give it a chance before you judge it.
I could go on and on about all the features on this machine (good and bad) but really i'm not that interested in writing a novel, lol. And i'm sure I missed a bunch of features that do deserve to be written about but the plain simple truth is that they all work well.
Are there things I don't like about it?? As with anything people won't be totally satisfied and want to have something to gripe about. Sure it leaves fingerprints (as with most things), sure it has a glossy screen which is hard to see in the daytime (find some shade), and the viewing angle is so-so (but really why would you be using the computer at an angle anyhow???), sure it won't make you dinner and clean up after you (but as soon as that model comes out, i'll be first in line!!)
So the jist of this review is - everything works well, it's cheap, go buy it.

An excellent computer January 9, 2010 MBrad 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We have owned 4 Toshiba laptops over the last 10 years. All 4 are still functioning. This small laptop is exactly what I wanted. It is "grab and go", light, and easily put in a large purse or small valise. The battery is long lived and will last all day at work with periods of inactivity. It runs Microsoft Office, Excel and Access with very little hesitation. Wonderful machine..

What a great laptop. I Have a macbook pro and this is a great ultra portable computer that weighs less than the macbook and with windows 7. No DVD drive but it used for portability on presentations and this is where it is most useful. I like it.
